How to Connect Stripe
Connect your Stripe account
In BillRyt go to Settings → Payments. Add your Stripe account — paste your API keys, or connect by OAuth where available. You need a free Stripe account; create one at stripe.com if you don't have one. Takes about two minutes.
Send an invoice
Send invoices from BillRyt as normal. Clients see a Pay with Card button on the payment page and pay instantly — in 135+ currencies. The moment they finish and return, BillRyt marks the invoice paid automatically.
Add a webhook for extra reliability (optional)
So a payment still confirms even if a client closes the tab before returning, BillRyt shows you a webhook URL to add in your Stripe dashboard — then paste the signing secret back into BillRyt. One-time, and the normal pay-and-return flow already confirms without it.
Why Stripe for International Invoicing?
When your client is in London, New York, Dubai, or Toronto, they expect to pay by card. Stripe is the world's leading payments infrastructure — used by millions of businesses globally. Connecting Stripe to BillRyt means your international clients pay in seconds with a card they already have, in their own currency.
How connecting Stripe works
You can connect Stripe two ways. Paste your own Stripe API keys (Direct) — they're encrypted at rest, used only on BillRyt's secure servers, and never exposed to your clients or their browser. Or, where available, connect through Stripe's secure OAuth flow, in which BillRyt stores only an account identifier. Either way, payments settle directly into your own Stripe account — BillRyt never holds your money — and every payment notification is verified against your Stripe webhook signature before an invoice is marked paid, so a payment can never be faked.
Currencies and Countries
Stripe supports 135+ currencies across 46+ countries for payouts. Common currencies BillRyt users bill in:
Stripe + Paystack Together
Most BillRyt users in Africa connect both Stripe and Paystack simultaneously. International clients pay via Stripe. African clients pay via Paystack. The same invoice shows both options — your client picks what works for them.
Typical setup:
- → Client in London → pays by Stripe (GBP card)
- → Client in Lagos → pays by Paystack (NGN bank transfer)
- → Client in Nairobi → pays by Paystack (KES M-Pesa)
- → Same BillRyt invoice handles all three
