Terms of Service

1. Service Description

BillRyt is a document creation and billing workflow tool. It is not a payment processor, financial institution, accounting software, or money services business. All payment processing is provided by Stripe and Paystack, which are subject to their own terms of service.

2. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must provide accurate business information when registering.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use this service.

3. Acceptable Use & Financial Integrity

3.1 Genuine transactions only

You may use BillRyt only to document real commercial activity. You must not create, send, or record invoices, quotes, credit notes, or payments that misrepresent the existence, nature, value, or parties of a transaction, or that are intended to conceal or legitimise the origin, ownership, or movement of funds.

3.2 Prohibited conduct

Without limiting the above, you must not use BillRyt to:

• Issue invoices for goods or services that were not and will not be provided.
• Disguise the proceeds of crime, evade tax, or circumvent sanctions, exchange-control, or anti-money-laundering laws.
• Invoice on behalf of any undisclosed third party, or record fictitious payments to misstate your books.
• Impersonate another business or individual.
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law.
• Transmit malware, viruses, or any other harmful code.

3.3 Payment verification

Online payment collection is available only through payment accounts you hold directly with our supported payment providers (such as Stripe and Paystack). You must complete and maintain that provider's identity and business verification before you can accept payments. BillRyt never holds or transmits your funds; each provider's own terms govern the payments themselves.

3.4 Monitoring and enforcement

We do not act as your auditor, but we may review usage patterns for signs of fraud or abuse. We may suspend or terminate any workspace, withhold platform services, and preserve records where we reasonably believe this section has been breached, and we will cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement, courts, and our payment providers.

3.5 Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of documents you issue and for your own tax, accounting, anti-money-laundering, and sanctions obligations in every jurisdiction where you do business.

4. Payments and Subscriptions

• Free plan: up to 12 documents per calendar month at no charge.
• Paid plans: billed monthly in advance. No refunds on partial months.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Plan upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at next renewal.

5. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all content you create — invoices, client data, and documents.BillRyt retains ownership of the platform, design, and underlying technology. You grant us a limited licence to store and process your content solely to provide the service.

6. Limitation of Liability

BillRyt is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for lost revenue, missed payments, or business losses arising from service interruptions or errors. Our maximum liability to you is limited to the fees paid to us in the previous 30 days.

7. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time from the Settings page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with 7 days' notice except in cases of serious violation where immediate action may be taken.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Nairobi, Kenya.
